Inspired by daily walks through a grey industrial city in Russia, this project explores the overlooked beauty of urban surfaces and the material traces left by the human-made environment — weathered walls, cracked asphalt, and snow mixed with dirt and traces of traffic. Through a series of glaze and texture experiments, these observations were translated into a collection of ceramic tea cups.

The tactile surfaces capture the visual qualities of the city, transforming them into objects for contemplation and everyday use. Intended for tea ceremonies, the cups encourage a slower pace and a heightened awareness of materiality, inviting users to notice and appreciate subtle details in the present moment.
